Damn you, damn you, damn you J. J. Abrams!  I was fully prepared to hate your vision of Star Trek.  Some nobody named Christopher Pine as Captain Kirk?  Pah!  The Shat has always and will always be the one and only Captain Kirk!  Then I read an interview with Abrams and he wasn’t even a Trek fan, he was a fracking Star Wars fan, which is diametrically opposed to Star Trek.  I was safe in my antagonism toward this new Trek, and then came my downfall that will forever label me as a true mark. They had a trailer for it in front of Quantum of Solace.  From the moment a young, preteen Kirk drives a corvette off a cliff, I was hooked.  The redesigned bridge, the concept of Kirk being shown as a typical rebellious teenage screwup, the special effects, the big fist fight between Kirk and Spock, Eric Bana looking all buff and scary as the villain, Simon Pegg being amusing as Scotty, and Zoe Saldana as Uhura is HOOOOOOOOT!  So damn you Abrams for ruining a perfectly good feeling of righteous indignation.
