Wrong Again

Well, looks like I’m not much at making predictions, just a few days after writing that the writers are prolonging their strike by negotiating to write for certain event broadcasts, it gets announced that the writers and studios are getting close to an agreement.  Here’s hoping they get to it soon, so that the next season of Eureka isn’t held up too long.  As for my ability to read what is going on in Hollywood, I don’t hold much stock in the Oscar predictions I made last week.

Oscar Picks

Like everyone else I have decided to put on my Carnak the Magnificent turban and give a shot at predicting who the big winners will be come Oscar night.  Most of these picks will be “Well Duh!” choices but I’m trying to be realistic.  I’m also not going to go down through all the Oscar categories, but will be hitting the main ones.  So here goes.

Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis–There Will Be Blood                  Best Actress: Ellen Page–Juno                                                      Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem–No Country For Old                                                                         Men                         Best Supporting Actress: Amy Ryan–Gone, Baby, Gone       Best Director: Joel & Ethan Cohen–No Country For Old Men Best Picture: No Country For Old Men                                    Best Animated Picture: Ratatouille                                            Best Documentary Picture: Sicko                                             Best Screenplay Adaptation: No Country For Old Men          Best Screenplay Original: Juno                                                Best Song: So Close–Enchanted                                                Best Musical Score: Atonement                                                    Best Special Effects: Transformers                                            Best Costume: Elizabeth, The Golden Age                           Best Make Up: La Vie En Rose
